Baptisms,

Weddings &

Funerals

St. James is here for you at important moments of your life – particularly welcoming a new child of God in baptism, committing to your partner in Holy Matrimony or mourning a loved one who has entered into eternal rest. We hope this guide will help you plan ways to mark these important milestones, and we look forward to talking about ways St. James can walk with you.

The Sacrament of Baptism

  • We believe baptism is the rite of initiation into the Body of Christ.
  • We believe baptism is an act of community, and the baptismal candidates and/or their families are encouraged to connect with our community prior to seeking baptism with us.
  • All those seeking baptism for themselves or their child must first meet with a member of the parish clergy to discuss their desire for baptism.

The Sacramental Union of Two Lives

  • We believe Marriage is a sacramental rite involving the couple and God.
  • The canons of the Episcopal Church require that any couple seeking to be married in the church must have gone through some form of counseling. The couple may work with our clergy or seek outside support from a trained professional or clergy.

Funerals, Memorial Services and Burials

  • The loss of a loved one is always difficult. Our clergy and parish are here to support you in this time of grief.
  • Currently our Graveyard is not able to accept uncremated remains. We would be glad to have the service in the sactuary and then accompany you to the gravesite.
  • If you would like additional grief support, please reach out to us.
